St. Joseph-Ogden Senior Spotlight: Ava Mills, Bailey Mills, Carson Mills and Brayden Grimsey

Ava Mills

Dance (4 years), We The People, Maroon Platoon, Spanish Club

Ava lives with her family in Ogden. She and her two sisters are triplets. Her main hobby is dance. She spends a lot of time at the dance studio in St. Joseph. Ava’s greatest memories at SJO also revolve around dance. During her junior and senior years, Ava and the SJO dance team advanced to the IHSA State Dance Competition at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois. Competing in this competition in back-to-back years is something Ava will always remember. After high school, Ava plans to attend the University of Alabama to major in nursing. Her advice for future SJO students is to manage your time well, do your homework, and get involved. Her favorite classes at SJO were Civics, Biology, and Geometry. Throughout her years of schooling, Ava’s favorite teachers include Mrs. Pierce and Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Mr. Schacht, Senor Sutton, and Mrs. Kerner at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Bailey Mills

Drama Club, Maroon Platoon

Bailey lives with her family in Ogden. She and her two sisters are triplets. Her main hobby is working with makeup. Her greatest memories at SJO revolve around working behind the stage during all of the SJO drama productions. After high school, Bailey is attending Parkland College to major in theater design. She plans to transfer to Webster University after attending Parkland College. Her advice for future SJO students is to get to know more people. Her favorite classes at SJO were World History, Sociology, and Biology. Bailey also enjoyed her math class with Mrs. Brooks. Throughout her years of schooling, Bailey’s favorite teachers have been Mrs. Max and Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Mrs. Kerner, Mr. Kieffer, and Mrs. Brooks at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Bailey on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.

Carson Mills

Softball (2 years), Drama Club, Art Club, Spanish Club, SADA, Maroon Platoon

Carson lives with her family in Ogden. She and her two sisters are triplets. Her hobbies include drawing, and hanging out with friends. Carson has many great memories at SJO. She will remember going to all of the football games during her senior year, and she had a blast cheering on all of the seniors. She has also really enjoyed all four years of Homecoming at SJO. After high school, Carson will attend the University of Cincinnati to major in graphic design. Her advice for future SJO students is to get involved as early as you can in high school and to go to the games. Her favorite classes at SJO were all of her art classes, Spanish with Senor Sutton, and science with Mrs. Kerner. Throughout her schooling, her favorite teachers include Mrs. Max and Mrs. Anderson at PVO and Senor Sutton and Mr. Duval at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Carson on all of her accomplishments and best of luck to her in the future.

Brayden Grimsey

Soccer (4 years), Track and Field (3 years), FCA, Maroon Platoon

Brayden lives with his family in St. Joseph. His hobbies are playing video games, being outside, and playing basketball and soccer. His greatest memories at SJO include playing soccer with his friends on the field, going to home football games, and qualifying for the IHSA Track and Field State Competition during his junior year. After high school, Brayden is headed to Jacksonville to study human services and play soccer at Illinois College. His advice for future SJO students is to enjoy your time in high school because it goes by so fast. His favorite classes at SJO were his Science classes with both Mrs. Kerner and Mrs. Kietzman and any class with Mr. Beckett. Throughout his schooling, his favorite teachers include Mrs. Kirk at St. Joseph Grade School, Mr. Steele at St. Joseph Middle School, and Mrs. Kerner and Mrs. Kietzman at St. Joseph-Ogden High School. Congrats to Brayden on all of his accomplishments and best of luck to him in the future.
